David and the five stones

We are all in a process of being healed, of being made whole in every way. We need to continually be "washed with the water of His word".

I saw a picture of David picking up the 5 smooth stones from the river, putting them in his shepherds bag and then, when the time was right - reaching in and grabbing hold of one of them, putting it into his sling and firing it at Goliath! A direct hit, that took that giant down in one! Total victory!

David could have used anyone of those stones... they were smooth, they had been "washed" and made "whole" in the river. They were placed in the shepherds bag, ready to be used at any time.

It reminds me of us - being "made ready" - being made "smooth". Why five? - to me it speaks of the five - fold ministry - all now being prepared for God to use. It's "all hands on deck" for what is to come.

And if we are all willing to be "made smooth" He can gather us in His shepherds bag, and reach in and use whoever He needs to, at any time, and it will "get the job done"!

Let's stay in the river... where there's Life and Healing and be made "smooth", be made "whole" and "fit" for the Masters use. Amen.
